It is important that you notify Disability and Dyslexia Support of any requirements you have before you apply for accommodation at Keele, so that your needs can be discussed and any necessary adjustments made

We offer a number of adapted rooms for students with specific needs.  Available in Holly Cross, The Oaks and Barnes W, Y & Z blocks.  Please contact Disability Services to arrange for an assessment.

You will receive notification that an offer of accommodation has been made to you via email and you will be asked to log into our accommodation portal to review the offer.

We will use your Keele email address except if you are a new student, where we will initially use your personal email address for any correspondence. Please ensure that you do not use your school email - this will be de-activated before we send out offers of accommodation.

We will send mailings from accommodation@keele.ac.uk address. Please set this address as a ‘safe sender’ to avoid losing important information from us into your spam folder.

When you receive an offer of accommodation will very much depend upon your entry period and whether you are a returning or new or new vet school student.

  • Offers of accommodation cannot be changed. There will be a waiting list at the start of the next academic year if you wish to change rooms, but this is subject to availability.
  • If we have more applications than rooms available, a small number of September entry students will be offered a temporary shared room at the start of term.
  • Offers of accommodation cannot be changed. You will need to consider the offer that has been made to you.

To enable you to take part in specific induction activities, your occupancy date will start on

  • Wednesday 18 January 2023
  • Thursday 14th September 2023

You will be charged for the additional days to allow for this.  You can see the adjusted final cost here.

Arrival before the start of your occupancy period is subject to availability and there will be an additional daily charge for each night you use the accommodation before the start of your occupancy period. The daily charge is 1/7 the cost of the advertised weekly charge. More information about arriving early is available here

If we make you an offer of accommodation you will have 3 working days to review it and decide whether you want to accept it, beginning the day after you receive the offer.

You will need to log into our accommodation portal do this.

If you are a new Vet school student, you will need to register for a new account, before you can review your offer.

It is important to understand that by accepting your offer of accommodation, you are entering into a legally binding contract and you are agreeing to pay the full occupancy period regardless of whether you occupy the accommodation for the full occupancy period and / or any part of it.

Your contract will start from the moment that you accept it and not from when you make a payment.

Once the Agreement is accepted you then have a 7 working day 'cooling-off period'. This means that if within 7 working days of accepting the Agreement you change your mind and notify us by email of that fact, you will be released from the Agreement.

You can only be released from the contract in exceptional circumstances such as taking a Leave of Absence or Withdrawing from the University. It may be possible to transfer your licence to another student as long as the transfer is done with the knowledge and prior written approval of the University Student Accommodation team. The new licensee should be a suitable replacement which means that the balance of genders and nationalities is not adversely affected within the accommodation.

You will need to pay a £450 Advance Payment by 31 August for September arrivals and as soon as possible after accepting your offer for January arrivals.

This payment consists of a £150 room deposit that is refundable when you leave (less any charges for damage) and a £300 advance payment which will be deducted from your first instalment of accommodation fees.

You will then pay by instalments on these payment dates.
