The Library is entered on the middle floor via an external staircase. If you have mobility issues please use the ground floor entrance. We have swipe card access at the Campus Library so please always bring your Keele card with you. If you have lost your card, you need to order a new one. Please note that you will not be able to enter the Library without a current card.

The Library has lots of study areas – collaborative, individual and silent. Please find a space which suits your needs - Library floor plan.

You can also book individual and group study rooms -

  • To book using a mobile phone or tablet, please download the Smartway2 app on Google Play Store or the Apple App Store. A few steps are needed to set up the application, but these are only required once. Open the application and use “keele” as the database token and log in with your Keele username and password.
  • To book using a PC or laptop book via the following links individual and group study rooms.

Our colleagues in IT are available remotely and in the Library. Please report any issues with the Smartway2 app to the IT Service desk.

We have a large PC suite where you can use one of our computers and we also have Wi-Fi and power sockets throughout the Library, so that you can use your own device wherever you want to study.

You can also borrow a short loan laptop for 24 hours or a 4 week loan laptop.

There are multifunction devices in the Library for printing, scanning and photocopying.

We ask that you respect other students and keep noise to a minimum. If you are being distracted by others, you can use our “text a talker” service and a member of staff will investigate the problem. Text +44 (0)7768 511143.

Please do not leave items unattended as we cannot be held responsible for any loss. If we see items left unattended for a period of time, we may remove them to free up the space for another person.

We ask that you do not eat hot or smelly food in any of the study spaces in the Library building. Please use the Refreshments Place to take a break from your studies.

Library lockers are available free of charge for students on a day basis – these are renewable if no one else has requested one. You can request a locker if none are available. If you lose the locker key or it is stolen there is a replacement charge of £50.
