Biography

Ella Tennant started work at Keele in 2012 and is module lead for Understanding the World through the Liberal Arts. In the Language Centre she leads the Intercultural Communication modules and English for Academic Purposes (EAP 3 and EAP 4) modules.

Ella’s interest in language, culture, communication, performance and digital literacy comes from her extensive international   experience which includes living, working and conducting research in France, Hong Kong, Japan, Mexico and   Spain. In addition to her roles  in Higher Education, Ella has worked in business and management, with her own companies in Hong Kong and Spain, and as a writer and translator.

Ella holds a BA Honours degree in French Modern Arts, MA in Asian Studies from the University of Hong Kong and  RSA TEFL Diploma and Certificate.  She also conducted research for the University of Hong Kong in the field of Japanese Studies and is Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
