Immigration Compliance and Advice (ICA) are here for all international students at Keele University. We can provide advice on a wide variety of issues to do with your student visa and adjusting to life in the UK.

UKVI Visa Brake Update

This update is for current students who are visa nationals of Afghanistan, Cameroon, Myanmar and Sudan, to reassure you that you are not affected by the new Government visa brake.

The UK Government recently announced that there will be a brake on new visas for these four nationalities. They have now provided further clarification which is:

The brake does not affect current permission to stay, nor does it cancel existing visas. It also does not change the conditions of visas already granted. If you are already in the UK lawfully:
o You may continue to study or work in line with your existing visa conditions.
o Any future application will be considered under the Immigration Rules in force at the time you apply.
