Biography

Valeria Karpova-Barber has been the Teaching Fellow in Russian at Keele since 1995.

Since 2009 she has been in charge of the Language Centre's  Russian language electives pathway (design, delivery and‌ assessment of 6 modules).

Valeria developed several teaching programmes and has a great experience in teaching Russian language at all levels.

Valeria has a BA (Hons) in Modern Languages from the University of Tver, Russia, and an MPhil in Russian literature from the University of Manchester. She qualified as teacher of Russian as a Foreign Language at the University of Tver, Russia. She is particularly interested in Russian Contemporary Studies, Russian culture and traditions in language teaching, developing new teaching materials.
