Biography

Ines joined the Language Centre in 2019 and she is in charge of the Spanish electives pathway at Keele. Ines has extensive experience designing, teaching and assessing Spanish language and cultural modules at all levels of proficiency in Higher Education Institutions in the UK. Prior to starting at Keele, Ines taught across a range of modules in both the Undergraduate and the University Wide Language Programmes at the University of Salford. She has also worked with the University of Sheffield, Sheffield Hallam University and the Instituto Cervantes in Manchester.

Ines has a BA (Hons) in Philosophy, an MPhil in Philosophy and a Teaching Qualification from the University of Oviedo (Spain). She also has an MA in Teaching Spanish as a Foreign Language from the University of Alcala (Spain) and a PGCAP from the University of Salford. Ines is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.

Ines is interested in the use of literature, films and games in language learning to spark autonomy and motivation, and in the pragmatics of intercultural communication.
