Russell Clark

Russell is the Academic English Programme Director. He has overall responsibility for the content and delivery of all Academic English language modules, as well as timetabling, staff allocation, and external validation.

Russell is the Subject Tutor for incoming Study Abroad/Exchange and Erasmus students. He teaches on the English for Academic Purposes, British Cultural Studies, Intercultural Communication Skills courses, as well as the Trinity College (London) Certificate in TESOL. His research interests centre on developing the intertextuality skills EAP students require for success in their studies and he has delivered papers on this area at conferences in Thailand and Japan. He joined Keele University in 2002. Prior to this, he worked for 14 years as an English language lecturer in Thailand, Singapore, Greece and Australia.

He has an MPhil in Applied Linguistics, an MA in Applied Linguistics for Language Teaching, the Trinity College London Diploma in TESOL (Distinction), a PGCE in English Language Teaching, the Trinity College (London) Certificate in TESOL and a BA (Hons) in Sociology and Linguistics.
