Neuroscience and Neurology
Neuroscience and Neurology brings together researchers studying the nervous system from molecules and cells through to behaviour, cognition and clinical applications. The theme includes expertise in neurodevelopment, neurodegeneration, neural regeneration, psychiatric disorders, stem-cell based disease modelling, neural tissue engineering and rehabilitation science. Researchers investigate conditions such as schizophrenia, neurodevelopmental disorders, neurodegenerative disease and spinal cord injury, while also exploring fundamental questions about neural function, behaviour and cognition. Using approaches that range from advanced cellular models and brain organoids to translational and patient-focused research, the theme aims to improve understanding of neurological disease and support the development of new diagnostic, therapeutic and rehabilitation strategies.
