Sustainability Hub

Keele University has a large green campus, interdisciplinary degrees, and historically led in sustainability research. It is a campus institution, and although it is geographically separated from the local town, in itself it is a small town. It has shops, residential accomodation, student halls of residence, a chapel and a large science park. It is for all of these reasons, Keele University accessed funding to build an exemplar building, the Sustianability Hub, to support development of sustainability both within the higher education sector and beyond.

The Hub was the home to the MSc Environmental Sustainability and Green Technology, a course run in conjunction with local industry partners. It provides consultancy work to industrial partners, puts on Continuous Professional Development activities and lectures, welcomes hundreds of local community members through the doors every year to find out about new developments in Sustainability research, and acts as a training venue for internal and external meetings and conferences on sustainability-related issues.
