Campus Nature Trail

Stop 22

point-22-3

As we walk back to our start we pass Cherry Tree Walk. The cherry trees either side of this path were the first planted, in 2001, as part of what is now our National Collection of Flowering Cherries. You can find much more about this collection here.

point-22-2

Continuing we pass under an avenue of Beech trees. These were a donation from a former lecturer Dr Mary Campion. They look magnificent in the autiumn.

point-22

By the side of the Chancellor's Building is a large Copper Beech - a much-planted variety of the Common Beech. In spring the fresh leaves look splendid but tend to darken with age.
