Our Logistics and Supply Chain Management MSc delivers an industry relevant curriculum, providing a comprehensive understanding of the sector and the challenges faced by global organisations. Key areas of study include the design and management of international supply networks, industry strategies for operations and procurements, sustainable supply chains, and methods for ensuring an efficient flow of goods whilst remaining competitive on price.
You will develop skills in using tools such as Power BI and Tableau to analyse complex data, and convert this data into viable business intelligence that organisations can use for strategic decision-making. The programme also explores freight transport and warehousing, providing insights into the supply chain from raw materials to the end consumer. Course structure
If you choose the 'with Placement' route, you will complete a 6-12 month placement module after the taught element of your programme.

Logistics and Supply Chain Management module structure
Business Consultancy Project
In the Business Consultancy Project, you will build foundational skills and gain practical experience by working directly with a real organisation to develop solutions to real-world challenges. You will learn to engage with businesses, frame organisational issues, and apply creativity and innovation. This module develops core skills in collaboration, communication, and problem-solving, preparing you for the Professional Project and Placement. It provides a strong foundation for success in other areas of the programme.
Professional Development and Industry Insights
This module helps you explore the industry you want to work in, including its structure, recruitment practices, and key trends. You will assess your own skills and experiences, identifying how you align with the industry’s needs and expectations. Through active learning, reflective activities, and guest speaker insights, you will develop practical knowledge and career planning skills. The module supports your progression into the Business Consultancy Project, Professional Project, and Placement, preparing you for future opportunities.
Sustainable Supply Chain and Procurement Management
This module explores the design, management, and control of international supply networks and their adaptation to global contexts. It covers theoretical and strategic aspects of operations and supply concepts. The module highlights the crucial role of purchasing in ensuring efficient goods flow and cost optimisation while meeting customer needs. Different approaches to managing purchasing and outsourcing in supply chains are examined, along with sustainability and risk management. Case studies illustrate real-world procurement and supply chain management practices.
Business Intelligence and Data Visualisation
You will gain the skills to transform complex data into actionable business intelligence using advanced visualisation techniques. This module introduces you to powerful tools like Power BI, Tableau, and Python's visualisation libraries, enabling you to create impactful dashboards and reports. By focusing on real-world applications, you will learn to present data-driven insights effectively, supporting strategic decision-making in dynamic business environments.
Freight Transport and Warehousing
This module aims to introduce students to the topics of logistics, warehousing, and transportation of goods. This module is important for students who are looking for a career in the logistics and supply chain industry. The module develops insights into how material flows from the raw material stage to the consumer. It covers aspects of inventory management, storage, network design, and distribution.
Information Technology and Management
This module aims to introduce students to technology, data systems, and AI which is influencing operations and supply chain systems. Decisions are taken on the basis of quantitative analysis using different analytical techniques. Data, models, and information systems play an important role in ebusiness operations, visibility of supply chains, and risk management. The module aims to provide students with an introduction to the role and the relevance of evolving technological trends, information systems, and information management in decision making.
Professional Project
In the Professional Project, you will undertake an independent piece of work that builds on academic and practical skills developed throughout the programme. You can choose from three routes: a research project, a consultancy project, or a strategic business proposal, aligned to your career aspirations. We will support you in preparing for your chosen path with essential research or consultancy skills. The module culminates in a detailed write-up and reflective analysis, showcasing your expertise and professional growth.
