New support package for international students looking to study at Keele University

International students arriving at Keele University for the 2021/2022 academic year will be able to receive a support package worth up to £2,000 to enable them to travel from their home country to the Keele campus and get settled in safely and easily.

Studying overseas can be challenging so it is important that students feel supported, particularly in these difficult times.

To help make the transition to studying abroad as easy as possible, an International Support Package is available for new and returning international students for the 2021/22 academic year, based on the Government’s traffic light system (red, amber and green).

The packages include free transport to campus, support with quarantine if required, a buddy scheme, welcome pack and more. Find out more about the support packages on offer here.

The support package is available to international students who are enrolled on a full-time undergraduate or postgraduate taught programme commencing on-campus in either September 2021 or January 2022.

Students will be able to receive the support package in addition to any scholarships they may already have gained from Keele.

Adam Hall, Associate Director of Global Student Recruitment, Partnerships and Access said: “We understand that this year has continued to be challenging for international students who intend on travelling overseas for their studies. We hope our range of support packages provide you with the confidence that we care about your safety and wellbeing just as much as we care about providing you with an excellent educational experience.

“We intend to help you get to campus and settled into your new environment as quickly and as smoothly as possible and we look forward to welcoming you to campus in September.”

Vice-Chancellor Professor Trevor McMillan said: “We are offering these packages to support international students as they cope with the challenges and uncertainty that have arisen as a result of the pandemic. We look forward to welcoming overseas students on campus and are committed to ensuring their safety and wellbeing, as well as providing a positive student experience.”
