This module explores historical and contemporary approaches to health and social care within the UK, such as the determinants of health and what ‘health’ and ‘social care’ means to a diverse society. You will examine a range of health issues and the structures involved in the provision of health and social care services. You will also be introduced to the psychological and sociological approaches needed to promote the changes required to support a ‘healthy’ population.
