FYO-00388 - Advancing Ecosystems and Biodiversity
Advancing Ecosystems and Biodiversity (30 credits)
Building on the knowledge and concepts of the 'Foundations of Ecosystems and Biodiversity' module, you will be presented with a number of real-world applications. If we are going to solve any of the ‘Grand Challenges' facing our present and future societies, the creativity and expertise from the full range of disciplines represented by you and your peers on this module will be required, namely zoology, ecology, geography, environmental science and geology.
When you complete this module, you will be confident to enter into dialogue with a wide variety of potential stakeholders covering economic, environmental and sociological factors (alongside your own specialisms) in the global arena, and as they relate to the global climate crisis, the management of natural hazards, integrated environmental (and ecosystem) management and the management of resources for energy, manufacturing and construction. You will consider different career pathways, exploring what a professional in their discipline might be doing Monday to Friday (and sometimes even at weekends), following graduation.
