Alternative qualifications accepted for 2020 entry to Midwifery with the Health Foundation Year

Pearson BTEC National Extended Diploma / Pearson BTEC Extended Diploma (QCF) MMM    Any subject 

A minimum of 3 GCSE subjects at Grade 4 (C) including English Language and Maths or equivalent qualifications (e.g. Functional Skills Level 2 / Key Skills Level 2).

GCSEs can be pending when the application is submitted.

Pearson BTEC Level 3 National Diploma / Pearson BTEC Diploma MM + 1 A level grade D Any subject  As above
Pearson BTEC Level 3 National Extended Certificate / Pearson BTEC Subsidiary Diploma (QCF) Accepted only with other qualifications Any subject    As above
Other qualifications
NCFE CACHE Level 3 Extended Diploma / Technical Extended Diploma Grade C   As above
International Baccalaureate Pass plus one science subject (higher or standard level)   GCSE Maths and English language/literature grade 4 (C)
Access to HE Diploma At least 45 credits at level 3 (88 UCAS points)   GCSE Maths and English language/literature grade 4 (C) or equivalent qualifications (e.g. Functional Skills Level 2 / Key Skills Level 2), or 12 credits at Level 2 or 3 in English and 12 credits at Level 2 or 3 in Maths
Vocational qualifications: NVQ or equivalent qualifications are not accepted
