Biography

After Graduating from Keele with a first class Geography BSc, and an award for the best performance, I felt I was not ready for my education to end. During my final year I wrote an essay on the inevitability of extinction and how this is being interfered with through conservation. This was something I couldn't stop thinking about, even once the module was over, and wanted to research further - leading to my application for a research degree. I have years of work experience in retail and hospitality, I love social aspects of work and try my hardest to excel in all my work, even when it is not directly related to my aspiring career. This experience includes retail work in Boots and M&S, a role as a ride operator at Drayton Manor Theme Park, and my current job as a barista in a M&S cafe. I will be continuing my role as a barista alongside my research as it continues to develop my skills in timekeeping, teamwork, communication and more!

Research and scholarship

My research is aiming to critically analyse conservation and contemplate if these schemes are viewed with rose-tinted glasses. This controversial research will aim to propose more sustainable conservation schemes and questions the longevity and purpose of current schemes. This will highlight the relationship between conservation, climate change, the environment, economy and the difference between natural and human-induced endangerment.
