Special Collections Spotlight: William Jack and Warrillow Collections
Introducing the William Jack Collection and the Warrillow Collection from our Special Collections and Archives!
The William Jack Collection comprises 21 albums of approximately 2000 captioned photographs depicting North Staffordshire collieries, railways, canals and iron furnaces, dating from the late 19th to mid 20th centuries. The collection is supplemented by Chatterley Whitfield minute books (1874-1926) as well as objects such as brass letter-head plates, a sovereign-weighing device, and a transport manager’s whistle!
The Warrillow Collection comprises over 1800 photographs depicting the changing landscape and people of the Potteries area from the 1870s to the 1970s.
