The Keele Institute for Innovation and Teaching Excellence (KIITE) is delighted to announce that the fifth issue of the Student Edition of JADE has now been published. 

KIITE is proud to sponsor this annual special student edition of The Journal of Academic Development and Education (JADE), which collects the research and reflections from the JADE Student Learning Undergraduate Conference (JSLUG). 

The JSLUG Conference, coordinated by KIITE and the Keele Institute for Liberal Arts and Sciences (ILAS), is an innovative undergraduate research conference that provides Keele students with a unique opportunity to gain first-hand experience of presenting at an academic conference.

This year, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, JSLUG couldn't take place in its usual format. However, we still celebrated the hard work put in by our students and staff, and so some of the conference was brought online, as a lasting legacy and celebration of the work of our talented Keele students.  

Dr Chris Little, Learning Developer and Teaching Fellow in KIITE, who convenes the JSLUG Conference each year, comments:

"This year was one like no other. It is a testament to the quality and determination of our students that we were able to provide our online JSLUG showcase and now this wonderful edition of JADE. The students have worked incredibly hard on both their original presentations and on the accompanying full papers here. I’m really proud of them – simple as that! I hope everyone enjoys reading this edition, which truly showcases the diversity and brilliance of our student body at Keele"
