Foundations in Life Sciences (30 credits)
This module will help you to make the transition to Higher Education, equipping you with the skills necessary to thrive as an independent learner, whether this is the first time that you have encountered biology, or whether you already have an A-level in the subject. Topics beyond A-level and the latest advances in the field are included with a view to conveying the sheer excitement of studying Life Sciences. The module considers your prior knowledge and how it can be built on further, including in semester 2 within the Advancing Life Sciences module. The specific academic and practical skills covered are designed to prepare you for module assessments that develop authentic and real-world skills and to acquire revision and reflection techniques ready for any further study.
