Foundations in Chemistry (30 credits)
This module provides foundation chemistry knowledge that is required for you to progress onto the first year of study within chemistry and related subjects. The module introduces a breadth of key chemistry concepts and skills that will provide basic chemical understanding required for your main discipline, and will be built on within the second semester ‘Advancing Chemistry’ module.
The module aims to enhance your abilities and confidence in the principles and concepts of chemistry in a theoretical context, while also demonstrating the application of concepts in a practical environment. The structure of the module and its assessments are also designed to further develop your skills in understanding, professionalism, analysis, and problem solving.
