FYO-00213 - Foundations of Numerical and Quantitative Methods for Health Science

Foundations of Numerical and Quantitative Methods for Health Science (15 credits)

This module will develop your understanding of the fundamental mathematical techniques and methods used across health science-related and social care programmes.

You will achieve this by developing a knowledge of the most commonly used mathematical techniques in applied health sciences. You will assess your understanding and skill in the use of these techniques by applying them to set problems that will be contextualised to health and social care settings.

Should you require extra or further explanation of the key methods being used you can access built-in tutorial support.

Successful completion of the module will mean that you acquire the skills to apply mathematical techniques to help solve health-science and social care-based problems. These skills will be developed in a group context; working with fellow students will give you the opportunity to develop collaborative working skills. This module equips you with some of the necessary mathematical skills to support your on-going study in your chosen degree programme.
