Did you ever think about where the cells in your body get their energy from or how the body is built? This module will provide learners with a foundation upon which to build their knowledge of the functioning of a healthy human body. Starting with a look at basic cell biology, the module will explore the main types of body tissues and structures and discuss how body systems work so that people can lead a healthy and active life. Foundations in Biology for Health will also equip successful students with the skills needed to analyse and interpret scientific data in order to make judgements and form a conclusion.
