Research

The Faculty has a vibrant research community working within, and in some cases across, dedicated Research Centres and Schools. We are proud of our diverse and supportive research culture. Research in the School of Humanities and Social Sciences is made up of the following research areas:

Research clusters

The Unit’s research is organised in three interconnected clusters: (i) Representational Practices, (ii) Technologically Mediated Composition, and (iii) Screen and Society. These clusters give shape to the Unit’s diverse areas of expertise and are inherently porous, enabling staff and postgraduate researchers to develop work that moves between music, media, film studies, game design and screenwriting.
