Biography

Marie Hotchkiss BSc (Hons)(RN), PG Dip (SCPHN HV), MSc, PG Cert Ed, FHEA

Marie qualified with a BSc (Hons) in Adult Nursing from Manchester Metropolitan University in 2012. After qualifying, Marie worked in AMU (Acute Medical Unit) to consolidate her learning and increase knowledge in various clinical skills. Marie then undertook the PGDip Specialist Community Public Health Nursing (Health Visiting) qualification and the V100 Community Practitioner Nurse Prescriber qualification at Wolverhampton University. Marie completed a MSc in Primary Healthcare, focusing on collaborative working between health and education to achieve optimum health outcomes in the early years.

Marie worked as a health visitor, and then as team lead for the locality 0-19 service, gaining experience with case management, safeguarding, budgeting, and service evaluation, maintaining a clear focus on the Healthy Child Programme. Marie is interested in restorative supervision/experiential learning and leadership, in which she has experience from clinical practice.

Marie worked at the University of Wolverhampton as a Lecturer in Adult Nursing and gained experience as academic practice lead for the private, voluntary, and independent sector, also linking with acute and community trusts. Marie holds a registered teaching qualification and Fellowship with the Higher Education Academy.

In August 2022, Marie joined the School of Nursing and Midwifery as a Lecturer in Adult Nursing.
