Do you want to access some free-to-read Open Access ebooks that have no cost, no access limits and are a great way to support open scholarship? If so, let us introduce this month’s new Open Access ebooks that are now available in Library Search!
These Open Access ebooks cover a range of topics and subjects and bring together the latest research and knowledge in their areas.
Some of the titles that you can freely read include:
'The GO-GN research methods handbook' by Rob Farrow, Francisco Iniesto, Martin Weller, and Rebecca Pitt, which draws on insights from experienced open researchers to build understanding of research in the open. The advice given applies to all research, but is of particular relevance to those interested in open approaches,
'Cromwell's place in history: founded on six lectures delivered in the University of Oxford' by Samuel Rawson Gardiner, which is a reproduction of Gardiner's series of lectures on Cromwell at Oxford University as the inaugural James Ford Lectures in British History in 1896,
'A short history of the British in India' by Arthur D. Innes, which provides a concise overview of British colonialism in India from its early beginnings to the decline of British power. Innes examines key events, figures, and policies that shaped the colonial experience, highlighting the economic, social, and political impacts on both British and Indian societies,
'Windrush 75: an ebook' by the National Windrush Museum, which highlights the stories of the Windrush generation and explores the pressing injustices that still face these people and their descendants, and
'This track contains politics: the culture of sampling in experimental electronica' by Hannes Liechti, which illustrates the potential of popular music to tell stories about the world, and it describes the habits, thoughts, and realities of the laptop producer, one of the core actors in 21st century music-making.
