Library Resource Spotlight: Recreational Resources
Mental Health Awareness Week is 11 to 17 May 2026 and to help our students take some time for themselves during their studies, we’re introducing our recreational resources!
Mental Health Awareness Week is a week-long campaign organised by the Mental Health Foundation every year, and it’s one of the most high-profile public health campaigns in the UK. The aim is to highlight the importance of good mental health, challenge stigma and to promote practical actions that people can take to support their own wellbeing.
This year’s theme is action as awareness alone is not enough to drive positive change.
Our recreational resources is a collection of leisure reading ebooks, digital audiobooks, magazines, and streaming videos, and this includes the Libby app, the Kanopy on-demand streaming video platform, Box of Broadcasts which is an on-demand TV and radio service, and our Wellbeing and Reading Well collections which are resources aimed to promote health and wellbeing.
You can also find information about Staffordshire Libraries, which is your local public library service. It’s free to join with the service offering events and activities, volunteering opportunities, access to thousands of books and ebooks, and much more.
Remember, your welfare and wellbeing are important and the University’s welfare support team are here to support you if you need their help.
Take some time for yourself during your studies at Keele with our recreational resources, which can be found on the library’s website and check out what other services and events we offer!
