Library Resource Spotlight: Gale Primary Sources
Ever needed to search multiple primary source collections? Gotten confused by several searches on more than one interface?
Let’s introduce this month’s resource - Gale Primary Sources!
Gale Primary Sources is a universal research environment that combines all of Keele’s subscribed Gale archives in a single cross-search interface, including Archives Unbound, The Times Digital Archive, and British Library Newspapers. The platform provides access to millions of pages of content spanning centuries and geographic regions, where users can explore a range of content including monographs, newspapers, maps and much more.
Users can search the platform by keyword, author/creator, document title, subject, and place of publication, while search results can also be filtered by content type, languages and certain date ranges. Users can also discover new connections using the topic finder and term frequency functionalities, which allow users to visualise connections between search terms and view relevant articles for those topics, and explore the frequency of one or more search terms in the content over time.
For access, if you are not automatically logged in, please login with your Keele username and password. Gale Primary Resources is also available on the library’s A-Z of online resources and there’s a handy help page too!
