Library resource spotlight: New Open Access ebooks

Do you want to access some free-to-read Open Access ebooks that have no cost, no access limits and are a great way to support open scholarship? If so, let us introduce this month’s new Open Access ebooks that are now available in Library Search!

These Open Access ebooks cover a range of topics and subjects and bring together the latest research and knowledge in their areas.

Some of the titles that you can freely read include: 
'Person-centred care made simple: what everyone should know about person-centred care' by The Health Foundation, which provides a quick overview of person-centred care, offering a clear explanation of the principles, why it is important, how it has developed, and some examples to help those considering putting person-centred care into practice,  
'Microbiology, pharmacology, and immunology for pre-clinical students' by Jennifer L. Cleveland, which is a peer-reviewed open textbook designed to fill a gap in undergraduate medical education (UME) and support medical school pre-clerkship education. It covers the areas of immunology, microbiology, systems-based infections, and global mechanisms of treatment,  
'Technical writing essentials: introduction to professional communications in the technical fields' by Suzan Last, which is designed to introduce readers to the basics of technical communication: audience and task analysis in workplace contexts, clear and concise communications style, effective document design, teamwork and collaboration, and fundamental research skills,  
'Effective professional communication: a rhetorical approach' by Rebekah Bennetch, Corey Owen, and Zachary Keesey, which breaks down the communication process in professional environments so you can maximize your chance to get hired and retain your job once you graduate from university, and  
'Introduction to biological psychology' edited by Catherine N. Hall, which is designed primarily for use by first and second year undergraduate students of British Psychological Society accredited Psychology degree courses in the UK.
