Keele University joins UK Print Book Collection
We have some exciting news to share with you – Keele University has joined the UK Print Book Collection as a participating member!
The UK Print Book Collection (UK PBC) is a national distributed collection of print monographs, supported by the British Library, RLUK, SCONUL and Jisc. Its aim is to secure long-term access to print book content across the UK.
As a participating member, we will support the UK PBC by checking our print book collections against national holdings on Jisc’s National Bibliographic KnowledgeBase (NBK), and when we identify a title for which 7 or fewer copies are held across NBK-reporting libraries, we will retain our copy (or if we can’t keep it, offer it to another participating library). This process applies to monographs published in 2010 or earlier.
Membership of the UK PBC will help ensure the preservation of shared print holdings for current and future users, whilst also enabling us to make informed, confident collection management decisions - allowing more effective use of our space and resources.
