Library Resource Spotlight: ScienceDirect
To celebrate World Science Day for Peace and Development, we’re introducing ScienceDirect!
World Science Day for Peace and Development is celebrated every 10th November to highlight the significant role of science in society, underline the importance and relevance of science in our daily lives, and to showcase the role that scientists play in broadening our understanding of the world and making our societies more sustainable.
ScienceDirect is a collection of peer-reviewed journals, articles, book chapters and open access content, which lets you explore scientific, technical, and medical research across several disciplines, including physical sciences and engineering, life sciences, health sciences, and social sciences and humanities.
Users can browse by publication title or undertake basic searches using the keyword search boxes to search by author(s), journal or book titles, or find articles with specific keyword terms. Whilst, the advanced search tool allows users to build more complex queries and users can filter their search results by publication year, article type, publication title, access type, subject areas and language.
There’s also the functionality to view and download articles, chapters, books and journals as PDFs, as well as export citations to RefWorks. Please note that access is only to the resources to which Keele University subscribes.
So take this opportunity to explore the relevance of science in our daily lives and how this can aid in the global search for peace and development. ScienceDirect is also available on the library’s A-Z of online resources and there’s a handy help page too!
