Keele strengthens partnership with The British International College
The latest addition to the partnership is the BSc (Hons) Data Science degree, which will be delivered in Kathmandu and is set to welcome its first students next year. The programme will follow a Foundation Year in Data Science which launched this October, echoing a distinctive element of Keele's academic heritage, and providing students with essential preparation in core subjects and academic skills before progressing to the full degree.
Further expanding the partnership, a pre-Masters in Computer Science will also launch next year, responding to the growing demand from employers for postgraduate-level skills. The pre-Masters in Computer Science will enable admission onto existing postgraduate routes delivered at The British International College and will support both graduates and professionals seeking to advance their careers in technology and computing.
An event was held in Nepal to celebrate the expansion of the partnership, attended by business leaders and government officials including Rob Fenn, the UK's Ambassador to Nepal.
Professor Antonius Raghubansie, Pro Vice-Chancellor (International) at Keele, said: "We're delighted to expand our partnership with The British International College, in Nepal. This is viewed by both of us as a major advancement for the country's young people, who remain one of the most globally-mobile groups in international higher education. The new courses focus on some of the world's most in-demand fields, and both institutions see this as part of our mission to transform individuals and communities."
Officially launched in December 2022, the partnership between the two institutions already offers the Keele MSc Advanced Computer Science degree.
Students in Nepal are taught face-to-face at The British International College campus, widening international access to Keele's degree programmes and diversifying the University's academic community.
