Keele celebrates success in National Student Survey 2026 with 13 subjects ranked Top 10 in England
A total of 13 subjects at Keele University have been ranked in the Top 10 in England in the National Student Survey 2026.
Keele ranked in the Top 10 in England (of full-time students in broad-based universities) for a wide range of subjects across all three of its faculties in this year’s NSS, with six disciplines – Physics, Astrophysics, Chemistry, Medicine, Business Management, and Veterinary Medicine – featuring in the Top 5 in England.
Also ranked in the Top 10 in England are Social Work, English Literature, Pharmacy, Biology, Human Biology, Mathematics, and Geology.
The NSS is a high-profile annual survey of nearly half a million final year undergraduate students across the UK. The survey gathers opinions from students about their time in higher education, asking them to provide honest feedback over 27 questions on what it has been like to study on their course at their university or college.
Professor Mark Ormerod OBE, Deputy Vice-Chancellor and Provost of Keele, said: “I’m delighted that Keele has six disciplines ranked in the Top 5 in England in the 2026 National Student Survey published today, with 13 subjects ranked in the Top 10 nationally, over a third of the subjects we teach.
“The NSS is an important measure of the experience of our undergraduate students, so I’m pleased that we have seen a further increase in the positivity of our students about all elements of their studies and experience. It’s particularly pleasing to have scored so highly on questions related to student voice and student feedback on our courses and their experience being acted upon.”
*We have compared the positivity ratings of all participating UK institutions using the NSS 2026 sector data to determine Keele's position relative to other broad-based universities (i.e. excluding specialist institutions and further education colleges).
