Two weeks to go
There are now only two weeks to go until you start your university experience at Keele. Make sure you're up to date with everything you need to do to prepare.
Before you start your course, we’ll send you two emails with your Keele IT credentials and instructions on how to enrol. Online enrolment takes just a few minutes and must be completed before the start date of your course.
We'll send you an email explaining how to enrol online, and all you need to do is follow the on-screen instructions.
All students have some element of online enrolment, but if you hold a study visa, you must complete the final steps of enrolment in person with our Immigration Compliance and Advice team. Further information regarding this will be sent once you have completed the online element.
For further guidance on how to enrol online, please visit our ID and enrolment web page for undergraduates and postgraduates.
Complete your online induction module on the Keele Learning Environment.
You can find more information on our induction module web page.
If you'll be living on campus, please ensure that you've completed your online accommodation induction. This is a very important step and will explain important information about living on campus.
Make sure that you have your Accommodation Key Collection Pass ready (which will become available once you've completed your online accommodation induction), and that you've booked your arrival slot.
If you'll be living off campus, make sure that you've discussed your plans for moving into your off-campus accommodation with your private student accommodation or landlord.
Looking to earn money while you study? Our Careers and Employability team can help you to find part-time work as well as helping you think about your career and graduate skills. Find out more here.
There are some great resources at Keele Careers Online and lots of upcoming events, including career planning and CV sessions. Head to the Keele App ‘What’s On’ section to find out more.
If you'll be living on campus, you'll need to make your advance payment of £450 when you receive your accommodation offer (and at least two weeks before your arrival date).
If you have any queries, please contact our Accommodation Services team at accommodation@keele.ac.uk.
Find out more about how to pay your advance payment and when to pay your accommodation fees using these payment dates.
Student loan payments are usually made 3-5 working days after your course start date or enrolment, whichever is later. This is provided that your Student Finance application has been fully approved.
It is therefore important you have sufficient funds to support you until your first payment is received. For example, you may need money for food, travel, household goods and joining societies.
If you experience any issues with Student Finance and would like support, please get in touch with our Financial Support team at student.services@keele.ac.uk so they can help you.
For more information, please visit our money and finance web pages.
International Students
If you're an international student, we recommend that you bring around £400 GBP in cash with you or on an internationally accepted ATM bank card so you can buy essentials while setting up a UK bank account. Please remember that there is a limit on the amount of money you can travel with to the UK.
We offer a whole host of additional opportunities to help you develop your skills and expertise while you're a Keele student. It's natural to have questions about how to manage your studies, so take a look at our resources to help you settle into University life, including how to organise, plan and complete your work. Whether you want to develop your academic skills, digital skills or career, we're here to provide you with the support you need.
If you’d like to order items before you arrive you can kit yourself out through our friends at either Chaffinch or UniKitOut. Please order before midnight on Friday 4 September to guarantee pre-arrival delivery to campus.
You can order bedding, kitchen or bathroom kits and more, plus save 10% with discount code KEELE10 if you decide to order anything through UniKitOut - or there's free delivery with discount code Keele2015 if you order from Chaffinch.
The Great Donate is a student-led scheme which has used, but in good condition, pots, pans, plates, cutlery, stationery, clothes hangers etc. You can take items free of charge from The Hub in the Students’ Union (Monday – Friday, 9am – 4pm).
It's green, it's cheap - and it's one less thing to bring with you!
Look back at the previous countdown pages to check you haven't missed any steps along the way. For example, you won't be able to enrol until we've been able to check your ID, and you need to apply for a parking permit if you intend to use a car to get to campus for your lectures.
Browse through the resources available online to help you with your transition to Keele. In the weeks leading up to starting, it's natural to feel a little nervous and unsure of what's to come. If you're worried about something in particular, please get in touch with our Student Services team who will be able to discuss this with you.
Finally, make sure that you have everything prepared to start University. If you'll be moving onto campus, make sure that you've arranged your transport and have a plan of how to transport your belongings.
We've set up a Facebook group to enable you to meet other new students and build connections before you come to campus. This official group is your opportunity to meet future flatmates, course mates, gym buddies, study buddies, and everything in between!
We'll also post updates in the group about upcoming events, so make sure you join today! Here's the link >
Get to know your Students' Union
As a Keele student, you automatically become a member of Keele Students' Union (SU), which plays a central role in student life. The SU offers a wide range of support opportunities and activities to help you make the most of your university experience.
The Advice and Support at Keele (ASK) service, based within the SU, provides independent information, advice, and guidance on a variety of student issues. Alongside this, the SU hosts numerous clubs and societies, including sports teams and special interests groups, giving you plenty of ways to meet others, try new activities, and get involved in campus life.
We also represent you as a student, giving you opportunities to Have Your Say, and help shape your university experience.
Throughout the year, the SU also organises a diverse programme of events and activities. To make accessing these even easier, you can download the Keele SU App (available on Apple and Android), which allows you to buy memberships, purchase event tickets, vote in elections, and stay updated.
Across campus you'll find SU-run social spaces, venues and services where you can relax, study, and spend time with friends.
In addition to Keele SU, postgraduate students can benefit from the KPA Clubhouse, a place to study, work, or take a break. There are opportunities to take part in postgraduate-focused events and socials and meet and connect with other postgraduate students.

If you’re an international student, you can apply online for your Welcome Buddy.
Make sure you have downloaded the Keele App onto your device, or are accessing it regularly via a web browser - just go to app.keele.ac.uk - to view events taking place on campus.
