Higher Horizons
Keele is a proud partner and host of the award-winning Higher Horizons network, which works to provide access for students from backgrounds that are traditionally under-represented in higher education.
The Higher Horizons programme is part of the Uni Connect Programme, funded by the Government to deliver free and impartial higher education outreach to schools and colleges across Staffordshire, Shropshire and Cheshire.
Recent data shows that around 47% of learners who worked with Higher Horizons applied to university, being twice as likely to apply to a university than their demographic peers.
Since 2017, the Higher Horizons network has worked with over 65,000 young people across Staffordshire, Cheshire & Shropshire, 74% of whom were from the most deprived areas.
Outreach sessions include Year 12 Medicine and Veterinary Science programmes, and skills and myth busting in-school sessions.
