A sector leading Institute of Technology (IoT) for Stoke-on-Trent and Staffordshire

Institute of Technology

Keele University is proud to be the higher education partner in the new Stoke-on-Trent and Staffordshire Institute of Technology. We're working alongside lead partner Newcastle and Stafford Colleges Group (NSCG), education partners Burton & South Derbyshire College, Stoke-on-Trent College, South Staffordshire College and training provider Axia Solutions, as well as key employer partners including DELL, Hitachi, MOOG, Indurent and Siemens.

The Institute of Technology brings together industry, academia and research to jointly design and develop education and training opportunities aligned to the skills needed by employers, the local, regional and national economy and Government priorities for technical education.

The Institute of Technology will focus on providing non-traditional routes to higher education where there are particularly pressing skills challenges, including digital, health sciences, construction and the built environment.

Utilising a hub and spoke approach, the Institute of Technology will serve the communities of Staffordshire from a number of key locations, including a brand new £22.5 million facility located in the heart of Stafford. The new three-storey, 8,000 square ft. building, is set to welcome learners in September 2025 and is packed full of industry equipment and facilities including a VR/AR immersive space, a mock hospital ward, testing laboratories, robotics and automation equipment, an advanced manufacturing learning factory and much more.
