Biography
Steph completed her nurse training at Keele University, graduating with a BSc (Hons) in Adult Nursing in 2014. She started her clinical career working in neurosurgery, trauma and orthopaedics at Royal Stoke University Hospital.
Steph has also worked as a community nurse in North East Shropshire and as a research nurse in Stoke-on-Trent and Staffordshire. She spent a number of years working as a study coordinator in the Clinical Trials Unit at Keele University, supporting the management of a secondary care renal study.
Steph has completed her MSc in Health Sciences at Keele, awarded a merit in 2024, and is undertaking her PGCert in Higher Education Practice. She started her academic career as a Clinical Practice Teaching Fellow, supporting the delivery of clinical skills and simulation before transitioning into her lecturing role and leading on the Evidence-Based Nursing Practice module for pre-registration nursing students. She is passionate about supporting neurodivergent students in Higher Education and co-leads an Inclusive Minds Forum within the School of Nursing and Midwifery.
