Biography

My clinical carer has been in Mental Health Nursing. I qualified in 2006 from Keele University and have specialised in Acute Mental illness and worked on inpatient wards for most of my career supporting patients and their families, in varying roles. My last clinical role was in a ward managers post, where I managed and lead the team to ensure we provided the best possible care. For the past 4 ½ years I worked for an NHS Trust as the Practice Education & Preceptorship Lead, where I facilitated the education of clinical practice for BSc, MSc and apprenticeship students ensuring they had excellent quality learning experiences/placements both in pre-registration courses and post-registration through preceptorship. My interests are in care of the acutely ill patient, leadership, supervision, coaching in practice and supporting people's personal and professional development.

I am passionate about peoples mental and physical well-being and the delivery of high-quality education to equip nurses with the qualities, knowledge, and skills to be excellent nurses delivering high-quality care.

I am currently completing my MSc dissertation in Advanced Professional Practice.
