Biography

Dr Swain is a qualified physiotherapist and epidemiologist. He is a part time research fellow at the University of Oxford and Kellogg college as well. His research interests are on intersection of multimorbidity (multiple long term conditions), ageing, frailty, exercise medicine, and chronic pain. Using large electronic health records, he explores the unanswered complexities of multimorbidity research, primarily focusing on musculoskeletal conditions and dementia.

He has nearly a decade experience in doing multimorbidity research in both developing and developed countries. His PhD was on Musculoskeletal Epidemiology from the University of Nottingham, UK. His special interest is on longitudinal epidemiology of multimorbidity and polypharmacy. He is works with multiple universities in the UK and globally. His aim is to improve the Global Primary Care Research in Rheumatic and Musculoskeletal conditions.

He is open to collaboration and supervision.

He has been recently awarded with £224k from Alzheimer's Society to do research on 'Optimisation of polypharmacy prescription in people with dementia'.
