Qualified GP with Biomedical Sciences background (Newcastle). Extensive work with underserved populations in Sheffield (general practice and substance misuse). Passion for tackling health inequalities and socio-cultural influences on health-seeking. Longstanding interest in dementia care; exploring personhood, identity, relationships, and barriers faced by ethnic minority families. PhD funded by NIHR Three Schools Programme.
Research and scholarship
How do sociocultural and religious factors shape health literacy and care for dementia among ethnic minorities of different religions in the UK? Qualitative, community-based approach to inform more inclusive health and social care provision.
