Biography
I am a Knowledge Mobilisation Research Associate in the Impact Accelerator Unit, where I support knowledge mobilisation, research impact, and collaborative working across the Arthritis UK Research Consortium - Musculoskeletal Epidemiology. My role focuses on developing and delivering Communities of Practice, facilitating knowledge exchange between researchers, healthcare professionals, patients and the public, and ensuring that research evidence is translated into meaningful improvements for policy, practice, and patient outcomes.
I completed my PhD in 2025, building on a Master's degree in Adult Nursing from Keele University and a Bachelor's degree in Religious Studies from Lancaster University. Alongside my academic career, I have worked clinically as a registered staff nurse, balancing patient care with doctoral research. This combination of clinical practice and research has given me a strong appreciation of the challenges faced by healthcare professionals and the importance of producing evidence that is relevant, accessible, and applicable in real-world settings.
My research interests include knowledge mobilisation, implementation, Communities of Practice, and research impact, with a particular focus on improving the translation of evidence into practice. I am interested in building collaborative partnerships between researchers, healthcare professionals, patients, and policymakers to maximise the real-world impact of health research and support improvements in musculoskeletal health and care.
Research and scholarship
My research focuses on knowledge mobilisation, implementation, and research impact, with a particular interest in how evidence can be effectively translated into practice to improve health outcomes. My PhD explored the role, delivery and implementation of video group consultations in primary care general practice, investigating how evidence-based innovations can be translated into routine care while accounting for the pragmatic, organisational, and contextual factors that influence implementation in real-world healthcare settings.
Within the Impact Accelerator Unit, I contribute to knowledge mobilisation and impact activities across the Arthritis UK Research Consortium - Musculoskeletal Epidemiology. My work supports the development and delivery of Communities of Practice, facilitates knowledge exchange between researchers, healthcare professionals, patients, and policymakers, and promotes the translation of research evidence into practice.
Drawing on my background as a registered adult nurse and primary care researcher, my research interests include implementation science, knowledge mobilisation, Communities of Practice, research impact, and collaborative approaches to improving healthcare. I am particularly interested in supporting collaborations that enable research to have meaningful, real-world impact on clinical practice, health policy, and patient outcomes.
