Biography
Aziza Sallam is a Teaching Fellow in Public and Global Health. She qualified as a dentist from Alexandria University, Egypt, and has a strong academic and professional interest in Oral Health Improvement, Public Health, and Health Education.
ziza completed an MPhil in Dental Education at Newcastle University, where her research focused on enhancing dental students’ engagement with feedback to support learning and professional development. She subsequently completed a PhD in Oral Public Health at Queen’s University Belfast, exploring oral health and nutrition among older adults living in care homes, with a particular focus on inequalities and health promotion.
Her research experience includes working as a Research Fellow at the University of Exeter on projects investigating multiple long-term conditions and population health. She has published widely using a range of methodological approaches, including scoping reviews, qualitative research, and quantitative analysis.
Aziza is passionate about teaching and supporting postgraduate students to develop critical thinking, research skills, and practical public health competencies. Her teaching interests include public health, global health, health inequalities, research methods, and dissertation supervision.
