Biography
Elliot Carter is a Lecturer in Geology and teaches Geochemistry, Economic Geology, Metamorphic Petrology as well as field courses. His research applies geochemistry and petrology and is focused the interactions between volcanic systems and fluids such as water or CO2, and how these can form part of the Earth’s natural climate cycle and potentially an avenue to mitigate against climate change. He has been involved in several international scientific drilling projects including two months at sea as part of International Ocean Discovery Program (IODP) Expedition 390.
