These Open Access ebooks bring together research that analyses how literature is read, interpreted and studied across periods and approaches, covering a range from literary history to contemporary forms of storytelling.
Some of the titles that you can freely read include:
‘A Short Media History of English Literature’ by Ingo Berensmeyer, which explains how changes in technology have influenced how texts are produced and circulated,
'Jane Austen, Virginia Woolf and Worldly Realism’ by Pam Morris, which uses the concept of worldly realism to reframe Austen’s and Woolf’s writing as a response to social upheaval,
