Biography
Dr Scott Bambrick is Director of Keele Business School (KBS) and a nationally recognised leader in business education and internationalisation. As Director of KBS he leads the School’s strategic ambitions across education, research, internationalisation, and business engagement. His leadership is central to advancing Keele Business School’s journey toward school wide accreditations, enhancing global partnerships, and embedding sustainability and purpose-driven education throughout the curriculum.
Scott external leadership roles sees him as Co-Chair of the Chartered Association of Business Schools (Chartered ABS) International Committee, where he represents and promotes the collective interests of UK business schools in global engagement. He also leads the Chartered ABS International Directors Development Programme, supporting the strategic development of international leads across the UK higher education sector.
Scott is actively involved in several Chartered ABS international working groups and taskforces, including the International Student Taskforce and the UK-India Business Schools Dialogue Group, both of which focus on enhancing global partnerships, research collaboration, and international student recruitment. His leadership in these areas reflects a deep commitment to advancing the internationalisation agenda across UK business schools.
Before joining academia, Scott served in the armed forces and spent over a decade in the construction industry in senior project management roles. He completed his PhD in Supply Chain Management at Manchester Metropolitan University, where he later spent 12 years at the Business School, ultimately serving as Head of the Departments for Strategy, Enterprise and Sustainability.
Scott’s professional journey combines practical industry leadership experience with senior academic leadership, underpinned by a strong focus on international collaboration, strategic development, and educational excellence.
Research and scholarship
Scott’s research interests reflect his professional journey and leadership in international business education. His work focuses on Supply Chain Management, Internationalisation of Higher Education, and Higher Education Policy and Practice.
In the field of Supply Chain Management, Scott draws on his industry background and doctoral research to explore strategic operations, sustainability, and performance improvement. His recent publication in Production Planning & Control introduces the 7Vs framework, offering a fresh perspective on critical success factors for supply chain effectiveness and efficiency.
Scott is also deeply engaged in the internationalisation of higher education, contributing to national and global dialogues on transnational education, student mobility, and institutional partnerships. His leadership roles within the Chartered ABS, including co- chairing the International Committee and participating in the UK-India Business Schools Dialogue Group, inform his research and practice in this area.
His interest in higher education policy and practice is reflected in his contributions to Global Focus, The EFMD Business Magazine, where he has co-authored articles on purpose-driven business education and sustainability-led curriculum design. These publications highlight his commitment to shaping the future of business education through strategic innovation and global engagement.
