Prunus 'Zerlina'

Prunus 'Zerlina'

Prunus ‘Zerlina’ was selected and grown by M. André Charlier at the Arboretum Rond Chêne in E. Belgium. It has been named after a minor character in Mozart’s opera Don Giovanni (Don Juan), a young betrothed peasant girl that the Don attempts to seduce more than once.

It is possibly a seedling of P. jamazakura, showing single white flowers with calyxes amid bronzy green young foliage.
