Prunus 'Ezonishiki'

Selected and raised by Mr Masatoshi Asari in Matsumae at the southern tip of Hokkaido, Northern Japan in 1977 from crossing P. ‘Ito-kukuri’ with a double-flowered sato-zakura. This is the most recently bred of the flowering cherries whose scions were sent to the UK by Mr Asari in 19xx.

Medium-sized pink semi-double flowers from deep pink buds with bronze-coloured young leaves. Mid-season flowering.

  • One by boundary wall, opposite the running track; square G4-H3; tag 4105. Planted in 2009.
