Biography

Messiah Anudjo is a Lecturer in Diagnostic Radiography within the Department of Medical Technologies, Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences and a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA), a recognition of his commitment to teaching excellence, learning and learners support within higher education. Messi is also a Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) registered diagnostic radiographer with clinical expertise in Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) and Computed Tomography (CT). He is also an active member of both the European Society of Radiology and the Society of Radiographers.

Messi’s clinical experience spans tertiary-level hospitals in both Ghana and the United Kingdom, providing him with a rich transnational perspective on healthcare education and clinical practice. His most recent clinical role was at University Hospitals Dorset NHS Foundation Trust-Bournemouth, where he worked as a Senior CT and MRI Radiographer.

Messi holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Diagnostic Radiography from the University of Ghana and a Master of Science Degree in Medical Imaging with Management (Distinction) from Bournemouth University. He is currently pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Medical Imaging, reflecting his strong commitment to professional development while contributing to research to promote evidence informed academic practice. His doctoral research focuses on clinical reporting/preliminary clinical evaluation (PCE) in cross-sectional imaging, being explored through a transnational lens.

Messiah is passionate about multidisciplinary, evidence-based clinical practice and education. His research interests include cross-sectional imaging (magnetic resonance imaging and computed tomography), cardiac imaging, neurovascular imaging, radiological image interpretation, and clinical reporting. He is dedicated to advancing radiography education through research-informed teaching and fostering critical thinking and reflective practice among students.

He has published peer reviewed articles in key sector leading peer reviewed Journals including Radiography, JMIRS, BMC, Radiology Practice, primarily focusing on topics such as preliminary clinical evaluation, environmental sustainability in clinical radiology and radiotherapy, Forensic radiography, radiography education and training.

He looks forward to contributing meaningfully to the evidence base to ultimately inform and improve medical imaging education and clinical practice.

Teaching

Messi has experience as a medical imaging educator at the undergraduate level. He currently teaches diagnostic radiography students at all levels along with supervising student research projects.
