The School of Allied Health Professions and Pharmacy
Teaching for all our courses takes place in Keele University Campus in the MacKay Building. We have a purpose-built school with 4 fully equipped practical rooms including one with specialised exercise equipment. All rooms are equipped with SMART boards, iPads and plinths for teaching and practice of clinical skills. We also have a newly built diagnostic imaging suite and access to a state of the art digital hub and access to the Anatomy suite across all years of the programme.
Students have access to specialist equipment to facilitate learning and teaching of clinical skills. These include SIM man, equipment for exercise prescription and rehabilitation, electrotherapy equipment, simulators and applications for breath sounds/auscultation, patient observation equipment, ventilators and respiratory care technology, age simulation suits, gait re-education equipment.
Students have access to a wide range of anatomy 3D models to facilitate learning and understanding of the anatomy of the human body.
Students have the opportunity to access and support the School Physiotherapy clinic who provide assessment and treatment to staff and students at the University with Musculoskeletal injuries. Videos of patient assessment and management from the clinic are integrated into teaching to facilitate student learning.
Our teaching facilities are in the heart of campus with easy access to accommodation, catering and retail facilities.

Our Pharmacy facilities are located on two main sites: Hornbeam Building at the heart of Keele University campus and the Guy Hilton Research Centre in Hartshill with additional laboratories and facilities at three main NHS hospitals; University Hospitals of North Midlands (UHNM), Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt (RJAH) Orthopaedic Hospital, Oswestry and the Haywood Hospital, Stoke on Trent.
Clinical skills suite
Mock dispensary and six consultation rooms.
3D lecture theatre
Wearing 3D glasses, you can explore the biology of the human body. We also use this space to teach about drug molecules so you can see the chemical structure of specific drugs.
Digital Health Hub
This facility uses the Keele Augmented Reality Environment (KARE) for patient simulation. This virtual patient programme lets you read through patient medical notes and decide on the correct treatment. These virtual patients help you to learn those pivotal communication skills in a safe environment.
