Biography

Danielle qualified as a speech and language therapist in 2012. She has since worked with adults with acquired communication and swallowing disorders in acute inpatient hospital settings. Her clinical practice focused on the assessment and management of dysphagia, including instrumental assessment using videofluoroscopy and fibreoptic endoscopic evaluation of swallowing (FEES), as well as training other speech and language therapists in the use of FEES.

In 2020, Danielle completed a Master's in Clinical and Health Research, with research focusing on the role of speech and language therapists in the area of oesophageal dysphagia.

Danielle joined Keele University in 2024 as a lecturer on the newly established MSci Speech and Language Therapy programme.

Teaching

Danielle teaches across the MSci and BSc (apprenticeship) speech and language therapy programmes.
