Keele Professor secures prestigious NIHR Senior Investigator status
A researcher from Keele’s School of Medicine has been named as one of the National Institute for Health and Care Research’s (NIHR) new Senior Investigators.
Professor Clare Jinks, a Professor of Health Research, is among the newest cohort of NIHR Senior Investigators to be announced by the prestigious research body.
The NIHR Senior Investigators programme, now on its 19th cohort, acknowledges outstanding leaders from across social care, public health, methodology, pharmacy, dentistry, and clinical research in the UK.
Senior Investigators are leading experts in their fields, recognised for their exceptional contributions to research and their influence in shaping the future of health and care. They receive funding to support their research activities while undertaking a senior leadership role for the NIHR.
Professor Jinks has been recognised for her extensive work in musculoskeletal research alongside researcher capacity building and NIHR strategic leadership and will hold the title for the next four years.
Professor Jinks said: “It is an honour to receive this award which recognises the work of many teams over many years. Thank you to everyone who has supported me including researchers, public and community members, professional services, research enablers and colleagues in health and care services.
“The award will enable me to fund career development opportunities and activities to help build research collaborations. The award will also be used to fund working with public and community partners and activities to generate impact from NIHR’s research.”
